EMF - King's Grove is the UK's premier Medieval - Renaissance festival, held annually at The King's Grove within the grounds of Pippingford Park, East Sussex.

We are currently inviting applications from traders wishing to sell at our 29-31 August 2026 event. Medieval, Renaissance and Viking traders, craft and retail traders, fantasy traders, living history demonstrators, workshop providers, family-focused vendors and food traders are welcome to apply.

Trading spaces are curated to maintain the immersive atmosphere and high presentation standards that define The King's Grove.

Medieval (Historical) Traders

Medieval historical traders specialise in trading primarily at Medieval, Renaissance, Viking and living history re-enactment period events.

  • Trade from an authentic living history-style medieval, renaissance or Viking tent or structure
  • Wear period-appropriate costume
  • Sell historically inspired or period-style goods

These traders help shape the immersive visual and cultural authenticity of the Festival.


Craft & Retail Traders

Retail and craft traders offer:

  • Handcrafted modern goods and artisan products
  • Contemporary themed merchandise
  • Carefully curated modern retail

Traders can use their own display covering, tent or canopy, or trade within a festival tent or marquee.

Living History Traders, Demonstrators & Workshops

Living history traders trade, demonstrate and provide workshops in traditional skills while dressed in authentic period attire.

  • Demonstrate period craft techniques and provide hands-on workshops
  • Sell handcrafted historical goods
  • Trade from a period-style structure or tent

These traders form part of the living historical environment that defines King's Grove.

King's Grove is more than a market. It is an immersive medieval and renaissance celebration set within the historic grounds of Pippingford Park, East Sussex.

Food Traders

Food traders are an important part of the King's Grove visitor experience, helping to create a welcoming, atmospheric and enjoyable festival for day visitors, evening guests and weekend campers.

We will have a limited number of food trading spaces available across the festival site. We carefully curate the food trader mix and will not select or locate similar food traders in the same areas on the festival grounds.

Food Trading Areas

Food trading areas may include:

  • Main Arena area
  • Market Lane area
  • Trader area
  • Camping area, to be confirmed

The total number of mobile unit food concessions will be no more than eleven. Acceptance of more than one unit by an individual concessionaire will be considered at the time of booking.

Presentation & Festival Style

We are proud to advertise our event as being the most authentic medieval festival of its kind in the country, and our visitors have high expectations. To add to the atmosphere and fun, we request that everyone participating dresses in medieval style, and we encourage all points of sale to adopt a medieval theme.

We are happy to offer ideas and suggestions to help food traders achieve suitable attire and presentation.

Opening Hours

Food traders must be open for at least the following hours:

  • Friday: 5pm to 9pm
  • Saturday: 10am to 9pm
  • Sunday: 10am to 9pm
  • Monday: 10am to 7pm

Additional trading hours may be discussed.

Camping, Electric & Facilities

  • Free on-site camping is available.
  • There is a fee for electric.
  • Generators may have to be supplied if there is an electric power shortage on the grounds.
  • Electric costs vary based on requirements, with a minimum of £85 for 12 hours use per day for the full weekend for a 13amp socket.
  • Single phase supply is 2.3kW per 13A socket.

Food Trader Booking Requirements

  • All food traders must register to participate each year.
  • The booking form must be completed in full, with all required information provided.
  • Confirmation of trading space is made upon receipt of the completed form and registration fee.
  • At the time of booking, food traders must provide a non-refundable registration fee, which will be returned if the application is not approved.
  • All payments are to be made by BACS, unless otherwise agreed.
  • All relevant food trader information will be forwarded by email to approved food traders before the festival.
  • Trading spaces will be allocated in priority based on the date of registration, but no specific space can be guaranteed.
